What You'll Do
As a Surgical Technologist, you'll be an essential member of the surgical team:
Prepare operating rooms with necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies for a wide range of surgical specialties
Ensure sterile field maintenance throughout procedures without exception
Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments with precision
Maintain accurate counts of instruments, sponges and sharps
Assist with patient positioning and draping
Handle specimens according to protocol
Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, anesthesia providers and surgical residents (at Hershey)
Serve as a resource for newer staff and students

Requirements
Qualifications
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) certification required within one year of hire—new graduates’ welcome
BLS/CPR certification required at hire
Solid foundation in aseptic technique, instrument handling and OR protocol
